Dear Gloria, Debbie and all,
My thoughts have been with you. The Grinde's are all such a special, close clan. I won't seen right seeing Gloria without Wayne. I'm picturing Wayne and my Dad chuckling and recalling old times together. Wayne was a special guy!

In Memory Of: John C.. Schanilec

I was surprised to hear of John passing on. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I have only know John for around 3 years. He was my insurance agent at AAA. We also shared the love of Blues Music. I often saw John at the Fargo Blues Festival as well as the Fall Blues Fest in Thief River Falls and of course sometimes at the Empire Theater in Grand Forks. After reading some of the other email messages relating to John's life, interests, friends, his character, etc. makes me feel fortunate to have known him the short time that I have. He will be missed.

sorry to hear about your loss of your dad. i know how it is ive been there i knew john for years he was known as the tax man in belfield. he was a good man, friend and dad . i went to school with kelli in belfield she was fun and so was john. god bless you all .

In Memory Of: John (Zeke) Schanilec

Madeline, I'm heartbroken to hear that John has passed away. We always conversed via email and the last time I was in Minto for my mom's funeral John came over to the trailer for a visit. I'll never forget the good times we had in Minto, North Dakota growing up. My deepest sympathy goes to you and family. John was such a good classmate. Saying good-bye to a fellow classmate is never easy, but I take comfort in knowing that my memories and good times with him will last forever.

So sorry to here of your dads passing. You lived across the street from us in Hazelton. Your dad was capable of making some very dangerous chili. We would get together from time to time to tip a few and have some laughs. John was a humorous fellow. We are sure he will be missed. Remember the good times.

My sympathy to you at this time. I worked with John at the Bank of Hazelton. He would come out to the teller area and help us. He was there when the bank put in the first computer. We put in some long days and nights. We had a good visit when he was in Hazelton for the Centennial. Always remember the good times.

My prayers go out to the family of Wayne Grinde. My memories of Wayne are very fond as we first met in 1983 while I was a county agent in Williston ND. Fresh out of college and in my first job, I found Wayne to be an individual who was willing to give me some good coaching along the way. Though we worked in opposite ends of the state, we had many opportunities to visit. I looked up to Wayne as many did, as he was willing to take the time to give me some advice along the way. Over the last few years it was always a good day for me when I would see Wayne, surrounded by his Park River friends, having a coffee at the local coop round table. He always greeted me with a warm smile and firm hand shake.

I learned today, from Rose Potulny of John's passing. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. To this day, I still remember playing with John on our neighboring farms, when we were little kids. We couldn't have been much more then a few years old. Those were such fun times. Even though our paths haven't crossed for many years, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.
