In Memory Of: Joanie Slominski
Comments: Dear Slominski's,
We want you to know how saddened we are to hear about Joanie. Sherry, our daughter, ran across this while searching for Sara online.
What a neat lady, Joanie was. I always enjoyed visiting with her while you were here cutting. And what a worker! I never could understand how she managed to get so much done!
Our family has you in our thoughts and prayers.

Comments: Big Lou, Dan & Family,
Only meeting Joan 3 yrs. ago through the harvest run, I was truly blessed to have meet a very caring and special person. Joan's entire family is a reflection of the person she was, and how she & Big Lou raised them.
Joan gave us her cook book with a personal note in the front cover. Our thoughts of her will be with us each time we use it.
Even though it is hard to comprehend, she is in a far better place now. I am sure she will keep watch over all that knew her and keep all of us strong through these difficult times. We all know this is how she would want it.
Sorry we are unable to be with you all.
God's Love & Care be with all of you.

Comments: After moving to North Dakota two years ago, I met a very special family--the Slominski's. I became close friends with Sharon and through her I met Big Lou and Joanie. Joanie has a heart of gold! She made me feel welcomed always and treated me just like one of her own kids.
My prayers go out to Joanie's family and friends--knowing how difficult it is for the ones she has left behind. Joanie is truly an angel who now looks down upon us.

Comments: To Sara, Louie and Joan's Family,
Just to let you know Andy and I have you all in our thoughts. We were so sad to receive the news of Joan's passing.
I feel very lucky I had the chance to get to know my North Dakota cousin. We had so much fun while she was in California. It was nice to share family stories. We are a "crazy" bunch.
Love,
Joan and Andy

Comments: Joanie is my husband's Aunt and Godmother, a Great Aunt to our children, but most importantly, a true friend to all who had the blessing of making her acquaintance. We hold the highest respect and admiration for the dedication, work ethic, and diligence that she put forth in every endeavor she accomplished. She will always be a hero and mentor to me, and I have often marveled at how she managed to accomplish so much. With all that she did for her family, community and business she and Louie shared, she made sure that anyone that operated a combine, truck, or tractor for Slominski's were rewarded with a delicious , hot meal. (Including more than a few lucky ones that happened to be in the vicinity of her Suburban and field delivered meals!) Louie, Sandy, Bill, Sheila, Danny, Sharon, Sara, and Louie Jr., we hope that you find comfort in knowing that her memory will never be forgotten and will always inspire so many. As Matt said- " I just could not have asked for a better Aunt"
