Comments:
We were sorry to read of Marcie's death. She was one of the first people to welcome us to Grand Forks in 1954 and was always so friendly and fun. Marcie and Bud and Wilson Laird shared birthday times in March and we often got together for cake and good visiting.
she will be missed. We send our sincerest sympathy.

In Memory Of: Marcie Metstad

Comments:
I met Marcie when we lived in Cavalier from 1972-1974 when my husband Marvin worked for Bell Telephone PAR radar project that relocated us to North Dakota. Marcie was one of the many strong North Dakotan women who I will always admire.
I especially remember meeting Marcie who, at the time, seemed to me to be a true 'wonder woman,' with the strength, determination and commitment to accomplish whatever she set out to do in local, county and state government. She was quite amazing. She was polite, but not shy, quiet but obviously strong, bright and totally committed to women having their voice and a place in the life of the community and the country.
I saw her again when she came to New Jersey to visit; and I felt as though we had seen each other the day before. The setting was different, but the conversation was still engaging.
I will always remember and respect Marcie as one of my heroes...a true woman of worth.

In Memory Of: Ernie Lien

Comments:
Fellow Friends of Ernie,
I am deeply saddened by the loss that we have all come to experience this week. Although I have not seen or talked to Ernie for about 20 yrs, I grew to know him as someone who was as close to a dad that I have ever had. I have a lot of fond memories of him growing up when he was dating my mom for several years. I recall him buying me my first 10-speed, the Yamaha 80 we rode around the big yard, the fun times with Earl and Marianne playing Monopoly and hanging out at Mary & Helen's house in the game room learning how to play UNO and pool, etc. I didn't realize how much I missed him until now because I don't have that chance anymore to meet up with him again in my adult life. I wish that I could make it for his services tomorrow, but unfortunately I can't. He was a very good man and I hope to see him again in another lifetime. I will miss you, Ernie! ~Sally

I am very sorry to hear about Marcie. I haven't seen her in quite awhile, she was very, very good to me when I was younger. She was so kind and gererous. I couldn't wait for Christmas, she always left quite a few very cool gifts under our tree for me. It was always an exiting experience to open them! Marcie and Alvin were two people I always looked forward to seeing in church and anywhere else I might run into them. I miss them both. Lori Sigurdson

Comments:
Art and I were buddies in our grade school days. Even though both of us went to different parts of the world during WWII we still kept in touch. Our latest visit was a few years ago when I stopped in Adams when his house was damaged by a severe hail storm. Art was a great person.
My condolences to all of Art's family.

Comments:
It was always nice to meet Paul driving on the road, who always greeted one with a nice big wave. Often he would stop into the field for some typical farm talk with Mike. Paul was a one of a kind character with a good disposition.

Comments:
Dear Suda Family,
We were so sorry to hear that your husband/father had passed away. He was a very brave man to endure all that he did since he was diagnosed. He was so fortunate to have such a large, loving family to be by his side during his illness. We know Amy. She is such a thoughtful person, and we're sure this is going to leave a big gap in her life. Also in the lives of the girls, Alex and Lauren and my nephew, Jason. We are thinking of all of you and praying it is not so difficult to say goodbye to someone who has been such a special person in your lives. It is never easy to say goodbye, but faith and memories of all the good times seem to make the healing process seem worth it. Sincerely, Rob and Bonnie McAdoo

Dear Shirley, We are so sorry for you loss. I remember during high school days that you had made an excellant choice for a life mate more than 50 years ago. Way to go Shirley for your many blessings. I will never forget the humble goodness, fun-loving mischief, teasing and happiness shown by your husband as a Bohemian singing "Alouette". You and Paul have been in our thoughts and prayers a lot this past year and especially this past couple days.
I had eye surgery today and cannot travel for a few days so we regret being unable to attend Paul's funeral. Mom, Eleanore and I will be with you and your familiy in thought and prayers tomorrow. Cousin Myron and Eleanore
