In Memory Of: Jack Halveson
Comments: I want to give my sympathy to the Halverson family. My family and the Halverson's were neighbors and knew each other very well. I loved to hear Jack play the sax, and had lots of fun with he and Phyllis. I left the area soon after Greg was born, but have always been interested in the whole family.
with sympathy, Joni Legg Daine

In Memory Of: Jack Halverson
Comments: I have many fond memories of playing in the various bands with Jack and going on all the Shrine Band trips with him. Golfing in Grafton was always an enjoyable outing, I miss those days. Jack was a good conversationalist and was fun to be around.

In Memory Of: Jack Halvorson
Comments: I have known Jack most of my life as I grew up in Forest River. He and his wife, Phyllis, were so good to Joan Legg and myself, as a place we were always welcome to come and be teenagers or young adults. I'm sure Jack will be missed in the Forest River community, although he has been gone for awhile. His kids were very special to me.

In Memory Of: Verna McKay
Comments: My thoughts and prayers to Verna's family. I always will remember all the times I met my folks and Verna and Dave at the cafe for Saturday morning coffee before the mail. It was always such a pleasure to visit with Verna whenever I got up that way. She will be missed in the community.

In Memory Of: Verna McKay
Comments: I seem to be using these things more every day. I will need to be at Presbytery, so will miss the service. Verna did a very good job as Clerk training me in how to run Session meetings. Whenever I did something not quite kosher, I would hear throat-clearing from the other end of the table, and would have to ask her what I did wrong. Since she was not an "active" elder, she didn't feel that she should speak unless asked. I also remember Christmas at the McKay house fondly - even though some of the relatives couldn't believe the person in antlers and red nose was the new pastor!

In Memory Of: Verna McKay
Comments: I met Verna when we both served on the Library Board.I found her to be a genteel dignified woman.
I was proud to say I knew her.We once took a day trip to Chester Fritz Library to meet with University librarian MR. D'Andre and the state librarian Mike Jaugstetter to deal with some Library business.I learned much more about Verna that day, such as her joy in caring for her flowers and her yard. It was a pleasant memory I think back on now and then.
I extend sincere sympathy to her family, friends and community where she made a life for herself.I am sorry she is gone.
Sincerely ,
MRS JOYCE SKJERVHEIM

Comments: So sorry to hear that your mom passed away. It is always hard to lose a loved one,but to lose a mother seems to hurt just a little more. If you don't recognise the name. I was Lois Moen from Edmore. Jerry and I lived in Cavalier and knew Kaye and Garnet.

Comments: You have our sincere sympathy in the loss of your mother, grandmother. Verna was such a special lady to our family. Our children would come running into the house to tell me that Grandpa Dave and Auntie Verna were out for coffee. That time was always a special time for us. Verna will be missed by every heart that she ever touched.

My symapthy to you on the loss of your mother. Your mother was a very special person. I always enjoyed visiting with her when I saw her up in Langdon at the grocery store. It was great to see you last fall at the Nekoma supper. Sorry I will not be able to come to the funera, but I have to go to my daughters in Devils Lake. Take care.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful lady and so classy. She sure has lived a wonderful life and probably has done what she has wanted to do in this life time. She is now in such a better and wonderful place and looking down on us and watching over us. You are in my thoughts and prayers Barb. It is always hard to lose a loved one but God will be holding you and carrying you through this.
Friends,
JONI
