In Memory Of: Kathy Johnston

I was so sadden to learn Kathy had passed away in Arizona. Kathy was a person so full of life and left a little ray of sunshine no matter where she went. She was able to laugh and make others laugh no matter what was going on in her own life. I knew the moment Wayne introduced me to Kathy that she was a woman that would always be your friend. I loved her free spirit and her ability to teach all of us a lesson about life. There was not a more proud mother and she loved her daughters more than life itself and her legacy will live on through their lives. Grandpa no words can express how much you will be missed! You always said what was on your mind and never held back (I thank you for that). You are now in no pain. I know you wouldn't want us to be sad or to cry so I have really tried not to. But sometimes that is hard.
You were a wonderful man sometimes a little bit rough around the edges a little. You had a huge heart. I will truly miss you and our little talks that we had when I was little.
Every time I see a western on tv all I can think about is you! That was on every time we would walk into the house! I love you and will miss you dearly.

We were so saddened to hear of Kathy's passing. We hadn't seen her for a few years, but will always remember the fun times we had when we were with her. She really was quite a character and we always enjoyed visiting with her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Christin and Vanessa and all of Kathy's family.

To my surprise,regret and disappointment I found her obituary in today's Fargo Forum on line. I was Kathy's roommate at Moorhead State and have put out numerous searches for her over the past 30 plus years. Not knowing anything other than her maiden name, I have pursued many avenues, mailings, etc. having them either returned or yet another dead end reply.
I am one of the people that also enjoyed her lifestyle, enthusiasm, love of life and love of a good time. We had many laughs back then. Not only was she truly beautiful and ravishing on the outside, but a genuine person on the inside. I missed not having her in my life throughout the years- that is why I had been searching for her. I am sorry that I did not get to know her family and tell them funny stories and about the goofy things we did way back then.
I am truly saddened by her passing but appreciate knowing that she "GREW" up to be an astonishing woman and shared it in her professional career.
Please forward my sympathy on to her family.

Remembering a wonderful college friend...
I was saddened to learn of the death of our dear "Gilly".
We shared lots of laughter and it's no surprise to read about the good things she did with her life. She had the personality that made one want to call her friend and it appears she lived her life that way.
Though I only saw her a couple of times after Moorhead State, we met each time with a hug!

I was saddened to hear of Kathy's death. She was always "Gilly" to our group of Gamma Phi Beta sorority sisters at Moorhead State and was the life of the party at all times. It has been many years since we were in touch but in reading her obituary I feel so proud to have known her. What a wonderful and caring person!
